Verifying Web Site Accessibility

AccMonitor is a server solution that can be configured and used with minimal user interaction. AccMonitor can be scheduled to crawl and verify content daily, weekly, or monthly. In addition, AccMonitor can send email reports or just links to the location of reports for all files verified or only those that fail compliance with the rules you choose. Reports are ready for distribution, including the “Web Ready” report that provides URL links to the files monitored and the corresponding reports, so that anyone with a Web browser can view them. AccMonitor can track files that reside on any server platform, including: Linux, Windows, UNIX, Mac, and Solaris, etc.

Similarly AccVerify is a client solution, also configured and used with minimal user interaction. It may be used to generate Web-ready reports or as an automated tool to remediate non-compliant Web pages. To receive the AccVerify software, contact the TNS Help Desk.

Compliance Sheriff

HiSoftware has allowed SDSU to test their hosted, accessibility scan software, Compliance Sheriff 3.2. A demo account and log-in URL are available to SDSU faculty, staff, and Auxiliaries. Questions? Please contact UCO Web Support, or download the User GuideLink to download the latest version of Adobe Reader

Testing Web Pages

Either product may be used to test standards-based and custom quality factors, such as:

Web-based Administration

AccVerify is not available for the Macintosh. However, AccMonitor may be configured for Web-based administration for Mac users. The web-based interface has controlled access. It will be used by authorized users, through an ACL, to verify compliance of various SDSU web sites to accessibility standards. Some of the users will have limited administrative access to allow them to set particular compliance standards for their business units. This is controlled with an application administrative group that can create, and maintain, SDSU-wide compliance standards within the software. An administrator account will be necessary to create and maintain user accounts.
